Born in Tel Aviv in 1966, lives and works in Tel Aviv.

Hanna Sahar's works focus on portrait and landscape photographs. In the portraits Sahar engages in the portrayal of scenes and figures that live on the fringes of society. In her documentary photographs the figures are depicted with tenderness and emphatic attentiveness, bestowing the photographed scene with a cinematic dimension. Sahar's landscape photographs look like a screen on which she projects a soft, at times blurry and vague reality, which evokes a painterly sense of mystery. Through the exceptional use of light and emphasis on color, Sahar creates a personal and unique handwriting in the language of photography.
